Morden Labour Councillors Speak-up to Save Morden Post Office
A Planning application that seeks to convert Morden Post Office into flats has left the future of this vital community hub hanging in the balance. Joining efforts to save it, Morden Labour Councillors swiftly submitted an objection to the Planning Application in order to prevent the unnecessary loss of such a valued and relied upon local service.
The Post Office is central to the community here in Morden, and its potential closure would be a huge loss to residents and local businesses alike. From pensioners who go there to receive their pension, to those who need additional support in using postal and financial services, Morden Post Office is a cornerstone of the neighbourhood, providing essential services to its customers and local people.
Mr Anil Patel has been running Morden Post Office and his shop in Morden for over 20 years and has established himself as a valued part of our town. So, it was no surprise that in light of the news, local residents quickly came together to show their opposition to the plans. A petition to save Morden Post Office was launched earlier in the week, receiving well over 1,700 signatures in just a few days.
