Petition: Stop Criterion Building THREE NEW TOWERS

In December 2024, Merton Council overwhelmingly rejected Criterion’s proposal for two new towers (including one that was 26-storeys tall) at the site immediately south of Britannia Point, known locally as the Colliers Wood Tower.

These plans were rejected by the Council due to 21 serious issues identified by planning officers, and thanks to the local campaign led by Merton Labour Councillors.

Unfortunately, the developers, Criterion, have now come back with a new proposal to build not two towers, but three. This will consist of one 16-storey tower, one 14-storey tower, and one 8-storey tower.

Your local Labour Councillors are completely against these plans.

Criterion still owes Merton Council nearly £3 million - the cost of the scaffolding that the Council was forced to erect to keep residents safe after one of the glass panes fell from the building and smashed on the pavement below.

We think it's ridiculous that Criterion believe they can build three new towers in our community when they cannot even take care of the tower they have currently.

Criterion have informed local Councillors that they will be holding two consultation events on 16th July at 7pm and 17th July at 1pm and we will provide more information on how to attend once we have received it.

Your local Labour Councillors have won this campaign against Criterion before, thanks to the help of local people who raised their voices who spoke out against their proposals. Now we need your help once again.

Please join us and help make our voice as loud as possible by signing our petition.
