Your Labour Team in Lower Morden

  • Cllr Sally Kenny

    Lower Morden

Sally Kenny has lived in Lower Morden most of her life and spent her whole teaching career in Merton. Both of her children attended Merton schools. Sally led the campaign to keep St Helier open, and has been your councillor for over ten years.

Sally has worked hard to secure improvements to King George’s Playing Fields. By applying for grants she has funded nine new park benches, had some of the children’s playground and equipment repaired and had thousands of daffodils to be planted. Sally goes out litter picking in the park, although if people didn’t drop litter, she wouldn’t have to.

Her largest application was to improve accessibility for park users. She won funding for the path from the car park entrance from Tudor Drive to the children’s playground to be widened, enabling easy access.

Sally is a member of Emmanuel, her local church, and supports the local FISH group who meet each Monday at Morden Baptist Church. Many of you will also know Sally from when she walks her daughter’s dog, Archie, who sadly is now becoming deaf. She is a season ticket holder with AFC Wimbledon.

  • Cllr James Williscroft

    Lower Morden

Dan Shearer grew up in Derbyshire and moved to London a decade ago after university. He comes from a working-class background and a family of factory workers.

Dan has worked in the financial services sector over the past 10 years, working in the City. Through his work in financial services, Dan has worked alongside schools to run access workshops, which involves partnering with schools to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds to get into university and access the best jobs.

Dan decided to make Merton his home as he wanted to start a family, and the area’s reputation for outstanding schools and green spaces fit the bill. Dan and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy, at the end of 2025, and he recently became a member of a local parenting group.

In his spare time, Dan is an avid reader. He cites nonfiction, especially historical books, as his favourites to read. He also has a creative side and enjoys writing. Dan enjoys winding down by exercising. He is a regular gym goer and appreciates the abundance of parks and green spaces across Merton.

  • Dan Hogan

    Lower Morden

Dan grew up in Gloucestershire, but lived and worked in Lancaster and Greater Manchester before moving to London 13 years ago. After moving all over South West London, he has now settled in Merton with his wife, Rebecca - and they’re expecting their first child very soon.

Dan works in communications, supporting British engineers to plan and build the clean energy infrastructure that will reduce energy bills for everyday families, create jobs, and make our energy system more secure. Working on transformative projects across the country means he knows how practical, local decisions can make a real difference to people’s lives.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys reading, cooking, and trying out new restaurants. He also loves the outdoors: he regularly goes for long walks in the Surrey hills and is a National Trust member – but he’s still learning how to look after a proper garden! He’s active in his local residents’ association and has worked with neighbours to make sure developers listen to residents.

Dan has joined Sally Kenny’s campaign to keep St Helier Hospital open and to protect services there as well as improve the fabric of its building.
